Want to lower your cholesterol, but don't know where to begin? This class helps you understand how exercise and a heart-healthy diet can lower your cholesterol, improve your overall health, and reduce your risk for heart attacks and strokes.
Understanding Your High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure, or hypertension, can happen to anyone. Join us to learn the basics about high blood pressure, self-care skills, and positive lifestyle changes that can help keep your heart healthy.
Ways to a Healthier Heart
Learn how to keep your heart healthy after a heart attack or cardiac procedure. This class can help you develop an action plan to reach and maintain better heart health through education, medications, and healthy eating and exercise.
Managing Your Weight
Successful weight loss requires more than just cutting calories. Learn how making healthy lifestyle choices, including regular exercise, proper nutrition, and a positive attitude, can help you lose weight and keep it off.
Quit Tobacco Workshop
This one-session workshop is designed to help you develop your own quit plan. In a positive, no-pressure environment, learn about the nature of addiction, available resources, and strategies to prevent relapse. Participation in this program qualifies members with supplemental drug coverage to receive tobacco cessation medications at copayment.
Pathways to Stress Reduction
Join this class to discover how your body, mind, and symptoms are connected. We'll help you identify the stresses in your life and learn basic coping skills. This class also provides an overview of available mind-body classes so you can choose the ones that are best for you.
Care Management Program
Kaiser Permanente's Care Management Program includes a personalized care plan to assist you in managing your heart condition. You will work closely with a provider, on an ongoing basis, to develop and follow a plan to help you make any needed lifestyle changes. Group appointments
Our group sessions are usually facilitated by a clinical health educator, physician, or other health care provider. They are designed to help you with conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and weight management. Our members who have tried the group appointments say they are better able to manage their health condition and improve their health.

Nutrition advice lines
Making smart food choices can reduce your risk for heart disease. If you have a nonurgent nutrition meal planning question, call our nutrition advice hotline to get your questions answered by a registered dietician. Use our health classes directory to find the nutrition advice line nearest you.
Farmers' markets
We're great believers in fresh fruits and vegetables. Not only are they good for you, but they can also help you lose weight. To make them more available to our community, we've opened farmers' markets where you can find high-quality, locally grown food at reasonable prices. Health education centers
Health education centers throughout Kaiser Permanente offer access to classes, trainings, health information, videos, books, and referrals to heart health programs. Use our facility directory to find the address and phone number of the department at your local facility.
