What is a Webinar?
A Webinar is a brief class on the Internet. It is like a group class that you attend in person, led by experts, but you can join in a Webinar at home or work - anyplace you have access to a phone and a computer. Most of our Healthy Living Webinars are one-time classes that last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

Why is Kaiser Permanente offering free Webinars to members?
Knowledge is power. You can dramatically improve your quality of life and reduce urgent visits to your doctor or the Emergency Department by learning to better manage your chronic health problems. For parents, learning to manage their children's asthma means happier, healthier kids and peace of mind.

What are the benefits of Webinars?
Kaiser Permanente is famous for its Healthy Living and health education programs. These programs have usually been held in face-to-face classes hosted by health educators and attended by members with the same health issues.

When we evaluated our programs we learned two important things:

  1. They work. Many members who attend our in-person classes report better health outcomes as a result.
  2. Face-to-face classes don’t work for everyone. People are busy with many demands on their time: work, picking up the children, making dinner for the family, and so on.

The list of reasons why you may not be able to attend a class at a medical center goes on and on. So we are offering Webinars as an option for busy people.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
