Timely Tip: Online Tools at Your Fingertips

At Kaiser Permanente we have lots of online resources to help you live healthier and thrive. These tools are available 24/7 and can be viewed from any computer. The information can also be shared with family members.

Here are some of the tools and resources available on your physician’s home page:

Online Programs
Wondering about your health status? Interested in quitting smoking or addressing your body aches? Our online programs can help you address your health concerns on your own schedule. Get a customized action plan for your health, to follow anytime online. Learn how to set up your workstation to reduce body pain, at your own pace. These programs and more are available at your fingertips.

  • Online Health Coach. Become more physically active through our Let’s Get Physical program, or improve you eating habits with our S.M.A.R.T. Eating program. Whichever program you choose, you’ll receive video coaching sessions sent right to your email and downloadable materials to support your personalized program.

  • Managing Your Headaches. You can find out what causes headaches, what type(s) of headaches you may have, what triggers your headache, and how to feel better with medication and self-care. You can use the headache diary to track your headache triggers, get links to other resources, and write an action plan to help prevent and manage headaches. Don’t let headaches just happen to you! Get some help.

Prepare for Your Procedure or Childbirth (Emmi)
Now you can get answers online to your questions about your surgery, procedure or childbirth. Use our Emmi “Prepare for Your Procedure or Childbirth” programs. This series of about 60 multimedia interactive tools can help you and your family members make medical decisions and prepare before, during and after procedures. For more information, please visit your Physician's Home Page and select “Prepare for Your Procedure or Childbirth (EMMI)” on the left navigation bar.

Pregnancy eNewsletter
We want you to have a safe and healthy pregnancy, which is why we created the Healthy Beginnings e-mail newsletter. The newsletters are customized to your due date and offer tips and information about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care. You can also connect with features, such as lab results, Email Your Doctor, and classes.

Podcasts
The health tips and advice you want are now available wherever you go. All you need to get started is a computer with speakers or a portable audio player. We have episodes on losing weight, relieving stress, enjoying healthy pleasures, and more. Guided imagery relaxation exercises programs can help you Ease Pain, Relieve Stress, get Healthful Sleep, as well as prepare for Healthy Pregnancy and Successful Labor, and Successful Surgery. All you have to do is settle in, relax and listen.

Videos
Caring for a newborn? Work at a computer? Family member dealing with anxiety or depression? Connect to better health with a variety of Healthy Living Videos. Each video contains information and advice on specific health topics available anytime. Be sure to check back often as we continually update and expand our library.
