I was born and raised in China. In 1990, after completing a BS in biology at Tsinghua University in Beijing, I came to the US on a scholarship to attend Harvard University where I was awarded PhD degree in Biology. I then decided to enter the field of medicine and received my MD degree from Stanford Medical School in 2000. I completed my training at Stanford and was board certified as a dermatologist in 2004.
During my medical training I was very actively involved in research of genetic therapy for skin diseases and have authored 13 publications in scientific journals including Nature Biotechnology, Oncology, and Journal of American Academy of Dermatology. I am a Fellow of American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a member of Santa Clara County Medical Society.
In 2004 I joined Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. I specialize in skin diseases and have a broad range of practice, including conditions involving the skin, hair, and nails. I am also trained as a dermatologic surgeon performing removal of benign and malignant skin lesions. On Wednesday afternoons, at the Kaiser affiliated Cosmetic Clinic (408-851-8200) I perform cosmetic services, including BOTOX, fillers, lasers etc. I am also a volunteer staff physician at VA hospital in Palo Alto, where I treat veteran patients and teach Stanford residents and medical students.
I live with my husband and two school age children. At my spare time I enjoy family time, gardening, swimming, and walking.
I understand it is a privilege to be your doctor. I want to be certain that all of your concerns are addressed. If you would like to make an appointment, or if you have a question, you may leave me a message at the Santa Clara Homestead Dermatology advice desk at 408-851-4650 or e-mail me from my homepage. Please be sure to include your medical record number so that I can access your records quickly and answer your messages promptly, usually within the same work day (except Wednesdays). I look forward to meeting you in person and helping you with your health concerns.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
