About Me
My passion is to treat and prevent skin cancer. I trained as a Mohs surgeon so that I can treat skin cancer with the highest possible cure rate. The Mohs technique allows for the examination of all of the surgical margins at the time of the surgery prior to closure.
I spend the majority of my time doing clinical research at the Division of Research at Kaiser Northern California on preventing skin cancer. My research is funded by the National Institutes of Health. I am also on the clinical faculty at the University of California, San Francisco.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area (Berkeley) and went to Stanford University for my undergraduate education. From there, I ventured to many places (Washington DC, New Haven, Connecticut, Boston, Seattle, and Dallas) for my medical education prior to coming to my senses and relocating back to the Bay Area. As Dorothy would say, "there’s no place like home."
I live with my husband, Marc (a native Bostonian), and my two sons, Arman and Aydin, in Palo Alto. My personal interests include international travel and health, scuba diving, cooking, wine-tasting and reading.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
