I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto. Prior to joining this clinic, I was with Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) for almost six years, which is the largest community based organization focused on the Asian American population in Santa Clara County, working with adolescents who were going through tough challenges in their lives. Through my internship, I had an opportunity to work closely with adult males who had drug and alcohol addiction as well as women who were victims of domestic violence.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I lived in South Carolina for a year when I was in high school as an exchange student, which was my first exposure to this country. I received my undergraduate degree in Pennsylvania. Having lived in different parts of the country, I continue to be fascinated by and blessed with magnificent nature and beauty that California offers. Cultural diversity is one of my specialties, and I truly enjoy working with clients who come from various cultural backgrounds. “Mindfulness” is the foundation of my work with clients as well as with my Self. I strongly believe each one of us was born with inner power for healing and growth.

When I am not at work, I enjoy my daily swim, hiking, bicycling, playing the piano and the flute, going to San Francisco Symphony, and many more! I look forward to meeting you and your family.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
