Greetings!
My name is Dr. Michael Matsumoto and I feel honored and grateful to work alongside an excellent group of medical professionals here at Kaiser Permanente's Novato Department of Pediatrics.

We are committed to optimizing the health of children through close partnership with you. Our staff and physicians work together as a closely-knit professional family. The clinic is comprised of 2 physicians (myself and Dr. Moribe), a charge nurse (Christina Tipton, RN) and medical assistants (Lettie and Jesseca). Sharing common values of caring, compassion, professionalism, and warm collegiality, we hope to always maintain and improve our high level of quality, service, and care.

I am pleased to offer this web site as an important and ever-growing destination for you online. Within these pages are carefully reviewed, helpful medical articles and handouts for parents, children, and teens. We also showcase extensive multimedia materials such streaming videos and podcasts, as well as interactive and personalized services such as are available in the members-only areas.

The members-only features are accessible once you sign-up at kp.org. After completing a simple online form, your password will be mailed to you and you can login and begin directly and securely emailing your physician as well as subspecialists that you’ve seen recently. You will also be able to review lab results as soon as they are completed, often with your physician’s comments already attached. Also very exciting is the ability to view and print the Visit Summary handouts provided at most visits to our office. Finally, you will be able to make appointments (even same-day!) and order prescription refills online.

As a pediatrician, I believe that our children are both the most precious and most vulnerable members of our community. Consequently, our children's health is the shared responsibility of every member of our community. By partnering with families, physicians, nurses, staff, schools, and community leaders, we can build on our strengths, our diversity, and our common goals of caring for our community's children.

We value your role as a parent or guardian and as a member of our local community and are grateful that you have chosen us as your pediatric health care partner. We hope that when you visit that you and your child will feel welcome and safe in our familiar and child-friendly environment. Any suggestions for improvements are always welcome (as are compliments for a job well done!).

Thank you for visiting me on the Web! Your suggestions and direct feedback are always appreciated so that we can hear how we're doing and continue to offer high quality care. See you soon!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
