About Me
I was born and raised in the Air Force, spending time in many parts of the country as well as overseas. As a teenager I returned to Toledo, Ohio where much of my family lives and where I eventually met my wife, Barbara. I attended college at Miami University (Oxford, OH) with a major in zoology. After graduation I attended medical school at Medical College of Ohio (Toledo, OH). We then moved to the Sacramento area where I completed my residency and fellowship at University of California, Davis Medical Center. I joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in 2003. I have found the staff at Kaiser to be committed to working as a team to provide the best possible care for our patients.
I divide my professional time between the practice of general radiology (interpreting CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-rays) and that of interventional radiology. As an interventionalist I perform minimally invasive surgery to treat conditions such arterial and venous diseases and cancer. I also perform drainage procedures, biopsys and treat the needs of dialysis patients. I find this to be a particularly rewarding aspect of my practice, as in many instances these procedures successfully treat diseases that previously required major surgery and do so with a shorter recovery period and less risk to the patient.
I spend much of my free time with my newborn son, Lucas. I also enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, and playing drums and guitar.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
