My Qualifications

I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2002 after completing my Urology Residency at the University of California, Davis and here at Kaiser Permanente. My professional interests are varied but focus on urologic oncology, endourology and laparoscopy. In addition, I serve on a number of professional committees including resident education, quality assurance, and the OR committee.

My Credentials

Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA

My Healthcare Practice

I strongly believe in Preventive Medicine. Most of us own our own vehicles and on a regular basis have them serviced. Why do we change the oil, have the transmission fluid, brake fluid and battery checked? Why do we have the belts checked and tightened or replaced? We do it because we hope to discover a problem early, at a point in time that repairs can be made when they are less costly. The human body is infinitely more complex than any automobile. If we don’t have our blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, or kidney function checked on a routine basis, we will never know that we have hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, or kidney problems until irreversible damage has been done. And unlike an automobile, most parts of the human body cannot be replaced or restored to their original manufacturer's specifications. Remember: AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE!!! I strongly recommend that everyone see their doctor on a regular basis for their routine check-up.

In the office, I spend a lot of time listening to my patients and include them in all decision-making processes. I feel that a well-educated patient is better able to make an informed decision. Here at Kaiser, we utilize state of the art technology which allows me to deliver what I believe is the very best healthcare in the state. And helping people is what I find to be the most rewarding part of my job.

I would encourage you to use the links on the sidebar. Take the time to explore, you will find multiple references for common as well as uncommon problems. Just point, click and learn!!!

My Outside Interests

Although I was born in Virginia, I grew up in California and have lived most of my life here. I enjoy most of the activities this vast and varied state has to offer including; golfing, fishing, hiking, and skiing. In addition, I live for live music, consider myself to be an accomplished cook, and a connoisseur of fine wines fine dining.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
