Welcome to My Home Page!

My name is Michael D. Burns, DPM (doctor of podiatric medicine). I have practiced podiatry with Kaiser Permanente since July 1988. My Kaiser Permanente experience began as a resident and I felt that this would be the best place to practice my profession, so I remained with the organization after I finished my residency. I am married to the love of my life, Lori. She was my high school sweetheart and we have recently found each other again after being separated for almost 20 years. We share four children ranging in age from sixteen to twelve. All of our children attend the Clovis schools and are great kids. I love to travel, and especially enjoy going to the Caribbean and going scuba diving with my wife and children. I enjoy being physically active and have always enjoyed playing basketball and softball. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing games and watching movies.

Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to treat every patient with the utmost courtesy and concern. I try to treat all patients as if they were members of my family. This is one of the main reasons why I like practicing at Kaiser Permanente: I can treat my patients with what we determine to be the best care for them based on their condition, problem, and the best treatment available, and for no other reason. I want my patients to have their life improved by the treatment I offer them.

My Credentials

Residency Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Sacramento, CA
Residency Hillside Hospital, San Diego, CA
Board certification Foot and Ankle Surgery, American Board of Podiatric Surgery

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
