About Me

I am a board certified emergency physician. This means that I have chosen to focus my practice within the emergent and urgent care settings. I feel challenged by the diversity and acuity of the patients that present to the emergency department.

I received my medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and completed my residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2001.

In addition to clinical medicine, I am a certified computer geek. I am one of the webmasters for the Kaiser Sacramento and Roseville Emergency Department website. Please take time to visit this site which provides valuable resources. I am also interested in information systems and have written various computer applications that are used in several emergency departments.

If you haven't looked through Kaiser Permanente's website, I highly recommend checking it out. Member Services, Kaiser Permanente's website for members, features a 3,500 page health encyclopedia, enables you to make appointments and refill prescriptions through the internet, and has many other useful features. You may also find information on your health plan benefits at For Member Services or call Member Services at 1-800-464-4000 if you have questions about your benefits and any changes in coverage.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
