I have been an occupational therapist at Kaiser Santa Clara since August, 2005. I completed my undergraduate education at UC Davis and completed my Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Samuel Merritt College. I work primarily as an inpatient therapist at this time. I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders. The populations I serve in this realm range from geriatrics to pediatrics to NICU patients. In addition to focusing on swallowing disorders, I am involved in more generalized neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation areas, including fabricating hand splints.

My prior work history includes working in Early Intervention and Hand Therapy. Immediately prior to coming to Kaiser, I was employed at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford for four years. I was exposed to a wide variety of diagnoses at Children’s Hospital, where I worked in general pediatrics, as well as working in such departments as orthopedics, oncology and on a specialized Medical Psychiatric Unit. I believe my broad experience at Lucile Packard helped me to gain a greater understanding of the nature of therapeutic intervention across various age spans, including the importance of family education/involvement.

I thoroughly enjoy working at Kaiser Santa Clara. I am impressed by the strong team work ethic in our rehabilitation department, which I believe leads to enhanced patient care. Within this environment, I look forward to continued learning both individually and as a team member.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
