Welcome to my home page. I'm an internist at the Lincoln facility. I've been with Kaiser Permanente since 1998. Prior to that I worked as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Kentucky and the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky while my wife completed her residency training. As an internist I specialize in seeing adults with a variety of diverse conditions and keeping them healthy. I put extra effort into communication and explaining issues to my patients and how to get and stay healthy.

I enjoy practicing here at Kaiser Permanente. My colleagues are all highly qualified, both within my department and in the subspecialty departments. The leadership here, and really, all of us here, are trying to excel in delivering quality healthcare to everyone. We all attend constant educational training, both within and outside of Kaiser in order to stay abreast of current medical advances.

My Qualifications

I received my medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and completed my residency with the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. I am board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1998.

My Outside Interests

The balance between work and personal life is always a challenge in medicine, but here at Kaiser, the balance is struck well. My wife is a physician as well, and we have three boys to keep us busy. Between trips with the boys, we enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor sports, being native Californians.

Be sure to visit the New Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
