About Me

Thank you for visiting my website.

I would like to tell you about myself. I was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. I graduated cum laude from Moscow Medical School, completed Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellowship in Endocrinology. I subsequently worked as a staff Physician at Moscow City Hospital.

Upon arriving in the U.S. in 1991, I passed Medical Board Exams, completed another Residency Training but now in Internal Medicine at UCLA/West LA VA and another Fellowship Program in Endocrinology at Stanford University.

As you can see from my training, Endocrinology has always been my passion. I believe this is the most fascinating field of Medicine. As a Medicine textbook truly states – “it is not possible to define Endocrinology strictly along anatomic lines”, which emphasizes that it has an impact and regulates other organ systems.

My primary interest within Endocrinology is insulin resistance and its association with reproductive health (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. I continue to conduct clinical research in insulin resistance at Stanford Medical center.

Finally, I have two boys and a husband who understands and supports my work regardless of the hours involved, which contributes stability to my work as a physician. I also continually learn from my children for whom I enjoy planning futures of their own. I feel rewarded and happy in my pursuit of a career in Endocrinology while caring for my family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
