I am originally from Massachusetts, where I attended a collegiate nursing program. After graduation I worked in the field of mental health and chemical dependence. I then migrated to California and worked at Stanford University Hospital in the critical care unit caring for open heart surgery patients. I completed my master's degree in nursing at the University of California and again worked in the field of mental health as the manager of an outpatient psychiatric treatment program for adolescents at McAuley Institute in San Francisco. I moved to Fresno in 1972. Since that time I have worked in critical care and emergency nursing and taught these topics at California State University, Fresno. I began working for Kaiser Permanente in 1993. I am nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and have specialized training in Dermatology. I have been working in the Dermatolgy Department since 1999. I look forward to helping you with your dermatological problems--I am known as the psoriasis and hairloss ("queen.")

Throughout my life, my favorite hobby has been horseback riding. Recently I sold my last horse. Riding and running always kept me trim and fit. Since I firmly believe in physical fitness, I now work out at a local gym on a regular basis at least five days per week. I love art, music, dancing and going to the theatre, museums or art shows. I read on a regular basis on almost any topic if the book is engaging. My most recent hobby is gardening which has become severely limited since moving to the city from five acres in the country. The change of seasons does allow lots of creativity by adding color palettes annuals. My practice philosophy is to assist my patients with their skin care needs. Many dermatological conditions are chronic in nature and need daily regimens to keep the skin smooth and pliable. I believe in discussing your concerns and developing a plan that will suit you best. I believe that sunscreen/sunblock is part of daily skin care. I recommend protective clothing as appropriate. I am always thorough and diligent in my work. Many cosmetic procedures and techniques are expensive, but skin can be improved with good daily preventive and maintenance programs.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
