About Your Office Visit

Prevention Information on Your Registration Slip

My Biography

I am a primary care adult physician with interests in preventative health. I work with adults of all age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. My educational roots are solid from the SF Bay Area. I attended Stanford University for undergraduate studies and UCSF for medical school. My residency training, also in San Francisco, was completed in 1995.

My philosophy as a physician involves developing long term continuous relationships with my patients. I believe that physicians are health advisors who provide knowledge so patients can take better care of themselves. Also, I believe that the best health care strategies are those that prevent disease from occurring. This is known as Primary Prevention. I strongly respect patient autonomy and hope to develop a meaningful health care partnership with my patients.

When I have time to spare, I enjoy traveling to different places, scuba diving, and eating exotic foods.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
