Biography

Dr. Mandira Matta has been living in the Bay Area since 1993. She completed medical school at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India and her rotating internship in pediatrics at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, India. Dr. Matta began working in the Bay Area with a research position at the Dept. of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Stanford University before starting her pediatric residency at California Pacific Medical Center – UCSF. She is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Following her residency, Dr. Matta worked for several years at multiple clinics such as After Hours Pediatrics San Mateo, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and other private practices while bringing up her son and her daughter.

Dr. Matta is committed to helping the families and their children lead healthy lifestyles. Her most recent initiative is the “Small Steps to Healthier Families" program that aims to help parents take back control, build healthy meals that kids will eat, and carve out time for exercise to move families toward life-long health. This program is a part of the "Moving Toward Wellness Series 2006," where Kaiser Permanente and the community provide helpful information on a variety of health topics for the community at no charge.

Dr. Matta speaks English, German and Hindi fluently with a good working knowledge of both medical and conversational Spanish.

Dr. Matta looks forward to getting to know you and your families and is committed to providing personalized and quality care and will ensure that your pediatric needs and concerns are fully addressed.
