Welcome to my home page !

I have been a physician for over 18 years. I chose internal medicine because it allowed me the unique privilege of enjoying many of those values which are important to me: sharing knowledge with people, collaborating with patients and specialists for the best possible care, reveling and savoring in the stories which patients have lived, and finally, a commitment to learning for a lifetime.

My hope as a physician is that in working together—sharing knowledge, asking questions, seeking out options—we will find the best way to keep you healthy.

...if you have an appointment with me,

then you are probably seeing me for a nuclear stress test (also called a persantine/chemical or exercise cardiolyte stress test). You hopefully have received the hand-out regarding this test, but if not, please click on the 'nuclear stress test' link above and read about this test. We will be discussing and answering thoroughly any questions you may have regarding your test on your appointment day, but if you feel you have concerns that cannot wait, feel free to contact the Cardiology Department at 448-4286 and leave a message for me. Please bring in your bottles of medicines or a list of prescriptions you're currently taking. Wear comfortable running shoes, and do not drink CAFFEINE (this includes even "decaffeinated" coffee and tea, or chocolate) 24 hours or more before your test date.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, OH
Internship University Medical Center (UCSF Program), Fresno, CA
Residency University Medical Center (UCSF Program), Fresno, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
