Lynn Lidstone was born and raised in New Rochelle, New York. Lynn started working in the field of chemical dependency in 2003. For her undergraduate program in social work at California State University at Sacramento, she had a field placement at the Chemical Dependency Center for Women (now Strategies for Change). During her graduate studies in social work, her internships were at Kaiser’s Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Sacramento and the Lighthouse Family Counseling and Resource Center in Lincoln, California. As well, she worked part-time at the Clean and Sober Detox in Fair Oaks, CA in 2005. Other work experience includes being a social service worker/educational assistant in the public school system in Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada from 1987-2002, working with children with learning disabilities, special needs, and behavioral challenges. She has been with the Santa Clara CDRP since June 2007.

On a personal note, Lynn has two grown children and is the proud grandmother of one. Her personal hobbies include golf, hiking, poetry and spending time with family and friends. In addition to English, Lynn speaks Spanish.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
