My Profession and Practice

As a general pediatrician, I am in a unique position to contribute to the overall health and well being of my patients. I am honored to know and care for my patients and their families. Communication is the foundation of my practice philosophy and style; I believe that partnering with families is critical to promoting health through every stage of childhood and adolescence. Children never cease to amaze and inspire me -- pediatrics is where I belong!

Since joining The Permanente Medical Group in 2001, I have enjoyed being a part of the lives of so many remarkable children and families. I am committed to providing excellent care and have been recognized with several awards for exceptional member service. In addition to my clinical practice, I'm involved in many special-interest committees. In 2006, I was named Point West Assistant Chief of Pediatrics. In addition to my practice, I spend part of my time with administration duties. I have many professional interests and am involved in several projects and committees.

My Credentials

Medical school George Washington University, Washington, DC
Internship Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA
Residency Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA

About My Medical Education and Training

I graduated from University of California Los Angeles with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology. As a medical student, I was awarded the Department of Pediatrics Senior Award for the top pediatric student in my graduating class. During my pediatric residency, I was awarded the Frances Nunnally Winzer Scholar award for outstanding service as top intern.

After completing my training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, I was honored with the position of Chief Resident. During this one-year appointment, I managed general practice, worked on multiple hospital committees, helped organize many facets of the residency program and became very involved in teaching medical students and pediatric residents.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente is truly exceptional in its integrated system of comprehensive health care resources.

On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have been living here in Sacramento since 2001. I like to keep fit at the gym with workouts and yoga. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafts, travel and visits with family and friends.
