Thanks for visiting my home page! I am honored and excited to be a member of the Kaiser Oakland Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. I did my OB/Gyn residency and training at Kaiser Oakland and decided to never leave! I have enjoyed caring for my patients and respect my colleagues so much that I honestly cannot imagine practicing in any other place. I look forward to continuing the relationships I have made over my years here, and I look forward to the new ones that lie ahead.
I chose the field of OB/Gyn because it allows ongoing relationships with women through all the seasons of their lives—some joyous, and others difficult. It is a privilege to teach a woman about her menstrual cycle, the importance of regular gyn care and pap smears, and empowering her with birth control when the time is right. It is an honor to share the adventure of pregnancy with my patients and their partners. Together, my patients and I continue to experience the pleasures and frustrations of menopause. Additionally, I offer my patients gynecologic surgery services from simple to complex as the need arises.
I am especially happy to call the Bay Area home. I was born and raised in San Jose. My parents were both teachers and dedicated their lives to multicultural education. My father is Mexican-American, and our home was a bustling hub of international students that were part of my family’s exchange programs to Mexico and Japan. I attended Yale University and received a degree in psychobiology and had a special interest in sculpture. After living briefly in Spain, I attended MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia where I met my wonderful husband who is currently a fellow at UCSF. We have a young son who is a joy and keeps us busy! My brother is a professional photographer in the Bay Area, and my family continues to live in the South Bay. In my spare time, I enjoy flowers, travel, art, dinner with friends and family, and exploring and thriving in our beautiful, diverse Bay Area.
Thanks for visiting!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
