I was born and raised in California. I received my Bachelor’s of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in molecular and cellular biology and deferred medical school for a year to study the endangered African Wild Dog. I went to medical school at the FUHS/The Chicago Medical School which has since been renamed to the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. I continued to move east to Worcester, Massachusetts and completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Massachusetts. During my residency, I had the unique opportunity to volunteer at a missionary hospital in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. During my experience, I grew accustomed to treating tuberculosis, malaria, cholera, and even saw a case of the measles.

In 2001, I eagerly returned to sunny California to join a busy private practice in Los Angeles. Several years later, we decided to move to Chicago where my husband completed his training, and I had the opportunity to pursue an academic position at RUSH University Medical Center. I quickly discovered my joy for teaching and working with residents. Not only do residents keep you on your toes, but their motivation and passion for learning is contagious.

My family and career opportunities brought us back to California. Having grown up in the Kaiser Permanente system, I was happy to join the medical center and after 20 years, was even thrilled to find my original medical card! My practice philosophy is to teach and to educate women of all ages about their health.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I believe in laughter and in living life to its fullest. I am very close to my family and love my husband and my 2 sons. We enjoy sailing, snowboarding, and cleaning the house (just kidding about the last one). My other hobbies are baking and cooking. Someday, I’d like to play golf, speak Mandarin, and play the piano; lessons that I wish I never gave up. Always listen to your mom!

I want to be certain all of your concerns are addressed. If you forget to ask a question during your visit, you may leave me a message at (650) 903-3020. Either, I, or my medical assistant will return your call.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
