THRIVE: A Healthy You ...Click here to get connected and learn how to live healthier every day.

Welcome to my practice of Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care. I chose the specialty of Internal Medicine because I wanted the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with my patients. I especially like the preventative aspects of medicine and helping patients and their loved ones manage chronic illnesses. My practice reflects my belief in the mind-body connection for health. In addition to my outpatient practice, I spend six to eight weeks each year caring for patients in our hospital.

As an associate Program Director of Kaiser Oakland’s Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, I am fortunate to spend time teaching medical residents as well as to co-administer the outpatient portion of their training. I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California at San Francisco, which allows me to teach medical students from my alma mater. My other professional interests include being a member of the Medical Ethics Committee since 1994 and teaching end-of-life care and palliative medicine to our residents.

Outside of the medical center, I devote my time to my husband, our two children and our wonderful friends and family. We enjoy the many outdoor and indoor benefits of living in the Bay Area.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
