Welcome to my home page. I am a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner who specializes in the care of Kaiser Permanente members who are receiving short term rehabilitation in a nursing home or live there permanently.

My Practice Philosophy

I value caring for the frail, elderly population who tend to be 'invisible' to society once they enter a nursing home. I try to help families and friends deal with the changes that take place once their loved one enters a nursing home.

My Credentials

Bachelor of Science, Nursing San Diego State University 1986
Master of Science, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner University of California – San Francisco 1994

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I have been a member of Kaiser's Eldercare department since its inception in 1995. My practice is exclusively limited to delivering primary care in the nursing home setting.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy the autonomy and creativity in my position with Kaiser, as well as having the resources of a top notch group of providers behind me.

On a Personal Note. . .

I have been a nurse since 1986, and have 18 years experience working in an Intensive Care unit. I taught part-time for Sacramento State School of Nursing for several years. I direct a children’s bell choir and am involved in my children’s school and their activities.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
