Welcome to my web page!

I am an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who changed from Pediatrics because I truly enjoy being able to deliver babies, perform surgeries and take care of women of all different ages. I do, however, especially enjoy taking care of young women and do use what I learned from my pediatric internship on a regular basis. I have a special clinic once a week for pregnant women under the age of 21. I also am particularly interested in fibroid management and treatment, specifically Uterine Artery Embolization.

I believe that as a physician my job is to translate medical information so that the patient can make a decision about choices that are best for her personally. Teaching patients about their bodies and specific conditions is rewarding for me and I feel it lets the patient make an informed decision that she feels comfortable with.

I did my residency at Kaiser San Francisco from 1998-2002 and have been with Kaiser Oakland from 2002 until present. Here at Kaiser, there are wonderful resources for patients including classes and preventative care. I also have many other specialists available for consultation when it is needed or desired by the patient.

Please, if you have an urgent issue that can be handled by another provider in my absence, call the advice line at (510) 752-1080.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
