My Specialty and Why I Chose It

Preventive medicine is the key to living a healthy life. Many of the diseases that we have today are diseases of excess. I chose family medicine because I feel that I can make a difference by working closely with patients and their family members in an effort to prevent diseases, rather than treating them. The specialty also allows me to treat a wide variety of medical conditions, which makes my job both fun and challenging. I also have a special interest in treating complicated and chronic diseases usually found in our most sick population, the elderly. My fellowship training in geriatrics provides me the knowledge and skills to address those conditions with thoroughness and expertise.

My Practice Philosophy

I value teamwork and partnership when caring for my patients. This means I am your healthcare advocate, working my best to look after your health. I may not know all the answers, but I am willing to guide and direct you to get the answers you need. In return, I need my patients to follow my recommendations (which are often evidence based) and let me know if something isn't working for you. As a team, we will strive to optimize your health.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

After living in different parts of the country and a few places around the world, I decided to move back to Sacramento where I grew up and where my family is living now. I've been a part of Kaiser Permanente since the fall of 2007.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I choose to work for Kaiser Permanente because I feel that Kaiser Permanente allows me the freedom to practice medicine the way I want, which means practicing what's best for my patients. We have a team here at Kaiser Permanente that really caters to the overall well being of our patients. I value that type of teamwork.

On a Personal Note

I enjoy taking care of my patients and look forward to working with you. Outside of medicine, I enjoy seasonal outdoor activities. One of my passions is to travel to as many places around the world as I can and to learn the many different cultures. If you have traveled to an exotic place, I'd like to hear about it. I may follow your footsteps. Cheers to your health.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
