My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a urologist. I treat disorders of the genito-urinary system. This includes the kidneys, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive organs. I enjoy practicing in this field because it gives me an opportunity to not only diagnose, but also to treat myriad conditions with counseling, medication, or surgery.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe in good counseling and making sure my patients are involved with the decision making process for their conditions. What is in the literature may not be the right choice for every patient.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I've been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2007. I think it's great to have all the different medical departments under one roof. It makes care of my patients that much better.

Here at Kaiser Permanente I can practice the way I was trained. There is no pressure to alter the care of my patients based on market or economic forces that affect the sound practice of medicine.

On a Personal Note

I was raised and did all my training in New York City. Yes, very different from Sacramento. I sought the change in location as a place to settle down with my new family. So far, I am enjoying this region very much. It is not just the weather and slower pace but the proximity to the outdoors. I have to admit New York restaurants can't be beat, but there are new venues emerging here all the time.

Be sure to visit the Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
