About Me

I chose internal medicine as my specialty because there’s rarely a dull moment, and if one does occur, it is a welcome relief. I’ve been with Kaiser Permanente since 1996 when I started my residency after graduating from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because my patients receive integrated care and I have the freedom to send my patients to a specialist without intervention. I also have the freedom to pursue my professional interests… currently, I’m one of the providers for our Asthma Clinic.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Go Bears!! After Cal, I worked for the California State Dept. of Health as a Public Health microbiologist prior to entering medical school. I’m currently married and we share our house with a very large cat.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals, Office of The Registrar, Galveston, TX
Residency Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Oakland, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
