My Qualifications

My Credentials

Medical school UC Davis School of Medicine, Davis, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1991.

My Healthcare Practice

I get professional satisfaction from getting to know my patients as people and working to involve them in their healthcare decisions. It is very rewarding having relationships with patients over time and seeing them transition into new stages of life, such as graduating from college, starting a family, or having a first grandchild. I enjoy helping women maintain good health through the preventative care in Women's Health. I also enjoy the variety of office practice, surgery, and labor and delivery.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

In addition to my clinical practice I am a member of the Physician Wellness Committee and also participate in the Perinatal Patient Safety Project.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente offers excellent care to women because of our talented and friendly OB/Gyn staff, our highly qualified sub-specialists, our ready access to lab and x-ray results, and our in-house obstetric services. I am happy to answer non-urgent questions by email, but sometimes do not have the opportunity to check my e-mail for up to 2-3 weeks at a time so any urgent questions or problems should go through the phone system.

My Outside Interests

I majored in Scandinavian Languages and Literature at UC Berkeley, although my Swedish is very rusty! I am married with two lovely children. I am very involved with my children’s school where I serve on the board. I am also very involved with their soccer, baseball and gymnastics activities. I enjoy reading and gardening.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
