Welcome to My Home Page!

As a physician, I see myself as your partner in health. I truly believe in prevention and will strive to emphasize this during your visits with me. Your health is as much my responsibility as it is your own. In illness, I will do my best to guide you to both physical and mental health. I feel it is my privilege to be your physician.

Why I Chose Medicine

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I am the second child in a family of eight. Becoming a physician was a lifetime dream of mine. It is difficult to say exactly why; maybe the fact that my father had the same dream and never quite accomplished it sparked my curiosity about this wonderful profession. I have never regretted it!

Why I Chose Kaiser Permanente

I was fortunate enough to rotate through the Kaiser Permanente’s Martinez Hospital as a resident. This opportunity exposed me to what I felt was a great way to practice medicine. It allowed me the flexibility to do what I felt was right for my patients and at the same time accommodate my need to have time at home with my family. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1990 and hope to spend many more years here.

Besides delivering patient care, I am currently the Chief of Adult Medicine for Kaiser Permanente, Delta Fair Medical Offices and Deer Valley Medical Offices in Antioch. It has been very exciting to watch us grow in this area. It has been a goal to continually increase the services offered out in Antioch and I can’t wait for our new hospital to open!

Life At Home

When I am not at work, my husband, Farhad, and I are quite busy with our four wonderful children. Our kids ages range from very young to young adult - talk about different interests and activities, but we enjoy every minute of it. Keeping them physically and mentally active is our priority. In my spare time, if one can imagine that, I enjoy gardening, staying physically active, and watching sports. Yes, I am the sports fan in my household.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
