Biography

I was born here at Kaiser Santa Clara and grew up in San Jose. I got my undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and attended medical school at Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health in 2002. I did my residency at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. I've come home to be close to my family and to continue my career in the community in which I was raised.

While in residency I conducted a study on patient adherence to different medication regimens. Please let me know if you are having trouble with managing your medications. My other medical interests include geriatrics and women's health. I believe prevention is preferable to treatment so I would like to encourage you to eat well, maintain a healthy weight, exercise and control the stress in your life. If you are smoking, stop. We have resources available to help you quit.

I'm excited about the use of the internet as an educational tool and I encourage my patients to explore the links on my home page as well as the resources available at members.kp.org. At times you may have a question or concern that I can answer over the phone or by e-mail. You can leave me a non-urgent message at our department line at (408) 851-2038. If you need to reach me or be seen on an urgent basis it is best to call our central appointment and advice line at (408) 554-9800. They can make an appointment for you or page me as necessary.

Outside of work I enjoy painting, jogging and cooking but especially spending time with my family. In addition to my husband, I'm lucky to have my parents, brother, grandmother and cousins in the bay area. I also enjoy traveling to India, which I do yearly to visit my in-laws.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
