Thank you for accessing this home page and I hope that you will find it helpful.

About Me

I graduated from California State University, Fresno in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy and Exercise Physiology. I then took classes in Orthopedic Manual Therapy to further enhance my skills. I am now a reviewer for two peer-reviewed journals for new books relating to Physical Therapy. I also teach continuing education classes for other Physical Therapists on the topics of spine care and manual therapy. My special interests are in spine care and evidence-based practice.

I have been a Physical Therapist at Kaiser Permanente since 1988. During my time at Kaiser Permanente I have held numerous positions. Currently, I am a Clinical Specialist working at our Manteca Medical Offices. I look forward to work with you to improve your health.

I was born in Indiana and raised in Wisconsin. I have been in California since 15 years old so I feel like a native Californian now. I am married and have three children and two poodles. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, rooting for the Sacramento Kings, boating and going to church. In addition, I have been learning Spanish with the help of my patients and co-workers.

Philosophy of Care

I believe that exercise is one of the most powerful interventions we have. Exercise affects muscles, endurance, circulation, and other systems in the body. My style of practice is to educate patient what their problem is and how it affects their function. Many medical terms are confusing with all of the “itises” that sound like a foreign language to them. I like to explain to my patients what is happening with their bodies in a language they are easy to understand. I also believe in being very approachable and accessible to my patients. I utilize various manual therapeutic techniques to stretch tight joints and muscles. Every patient will receive a home exercise program to strengthen weak muscles and stretch tight muscles. Correcting aggravating postures and activities is also an integral part of the program.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.
