My Qualifications

I received my medical degree from Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. I completed my residencies with David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. I am board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Before joining the Permanente Medical Group in 2002, I practiced for nine years in the United States Air Force and was in private practice for three years.

My Healthcare Practice

I chose this specific field of medicine in part because of my own experiences as a pediatric surgical patient and because the specialty itself is unique and interesting and tremendously rewarding. It gives me the chance to be an advocate for children requiring general surgical care. As both a physician and a parent, I strive to ensure our patients receive the same caring service and family-oriented care that I would like for my own children.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy Kaiser Permanente for a variety of reasons. At Kaiser Permanente we enjoy a close working relationships with a broad range of specialists. Furthermore, this medical group is focused on providing quality care to our members in ways that are as meaningful to the members as they are to me as a physician providing that care. Perhaps most importantly, practicing pediatric surgery here at Kaiser Permanente allows me to focus entirely on patient care.

Be sure to visit the New Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.
