My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a Physical Therapist working with patients that have neuromuscular challenges. I have worked with orthopedic patients for close to 18 years and recently returned to my passion of working with patients challenged with neurological disorders.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is rooted in supporting each patient to achieve the highest level of function they can attain. I feel that each patient has strengths that can be enhanced and will support their independence or progression toward independence. My role is to evaluate and train these strengths to support each individual patient. I believe that rehabilitation is a joint effort between the patient and the physical therapist working toward a common goal.

My Credentials

1978 B.S., Health Science California State University – Northridge
1987 B.S., Physical Therapy Californis State University - Northridge

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a physical therapist with Kaiser Permanente since 1987 and have enjoyed working with a wide range of patients over the years. I certainly appreciate working in an environment that covers most of healthcare in one location or “under one roof”. Working as a Kaiser physical therapist has allowed me to work with many skilled practitioners over the years. I thrive in the environment that utilizes the team approach to healthcare with the goal of optimal patient care.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

  • Associate Member of the International PNF Association
  • Assistant Instructor for The Institute of Physical Art (1990-1999)

On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Southern California. I have called Sacramento my home since 1979. My family and I enjoy traveling and recently expanded our travel to international destinations. This certainly enhances my lifelong interest in other cultures.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
