My Biography

I'm a native Californian, born in Berkeley and raised in Sunnyvale. I graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional science from University of California, Davis and then went on to medical school at Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. I completed my residency at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles and in 1986, during my residency, received the Associate Group Resident's Award at Childrens Hospital.

I joined Kaiser Permanente's pediatrics team at the Milpitas Medical Offices in February of 1994. Prior to joining Kaiser, I worked as a traveling physician and worked throughout the country. At one time, I was licensed to practice medicine in 16 states! I am the Assistant Chief of the Department of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

When I'm not busy attending to patients, I spend time bicycling, jogging and traveling around the world. I enjoy watching the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants games. I speak Spanish and I've worked with Interplast Plastic Surgery teams in Honduras, Ecuador, Vietnam and Peru.

Other Languages: Spanish

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
