I'd like to give you some information about me as a physician and as a person. When I was looking for the type of career I wanted to pursue, my number one consideration was that I love to work with people. Being a physician fits this perfectly! After medical school, I decided to become a pediatrician because I especially love interacting with children and teenagers. I completed my pediatric residency in 1981. I found that I liked this system so well I decided to join Kaiser Permanente right out of residency and I've been here ever since.

The things I like most about my work are that I love the challenge of listening to people and trying to find a solution that everyone is comfortable with. I really love the individuality of my patients and I know that the same thing doesn't work for everyone, so communication and partnership are very important.

One of the best things about being a physician at Kaiser Permanente is that I'm not in charge of finances. I feel I have the freedom to practice in the way that I see best fits the needs of my patients.

Outside of work, as a mother, most of my time is spent in family activities.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
