I hope you find this home page a useful link to get information about me and my practice, and a link to multiple functions that can be done online. You can make appointments, refill medications, e-mail me, and find a wealth of information about your health all online. Welcome!

My Qualifications

I grew up in the East Bay and received a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University. After medical school and residency in Internal Medicine, I joined the Kaiser Permanente Department of Medicine in Vallejo and transferred to Fairfield when the clinic opened in 1985. In 1998 I became Chief of Medicine at Fairfield. My practice is very busy. Besides caring for some members for over 20 years, I am responsible for a lot of administrative work. In general I see members for part of the day on Mondays through Thursdays and I’m out of the office on Fridays.

My Healthcare Practice

I feel it is very important to listen to members so we understand each other. I try through education and encouragement to help members make the changes that will lead them to better health. I believe that one’s physical health is related to his/her mental, emotional, and social health. A balanced, nutritional diet that avoids junk food, cigarettes, and excess alcohol, along with regular exercise, maintaining ideal body weight, sufficient sleep, and minimizing negative responses to stress all contribute to a healthy lifestyle and sense of well being.

My Outside Interests

My family is very important to me. My husband and I have been blessed with four wonderful sons. The older two are happily married (the oldest has 2, soon to be 3, children). Our third son just started college and the youngest is still in high school. We enjoy traveling, hiking and camping together. We try to follow the principles found in the Bible.

My Credentials

Medical school UC Los Angeles, School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA
Internship UC San Diego Medical Center, San Diego, CA
Residency UC San Diego Medical Center, San Diego, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
