My Profession

I am a comprehensive ophthalmologist practicing in the Sacramento area for Kaiser Permanente since 1991. I spent the first 13 years at the Roseville facility. After Labor Day 2003, I moved my practice to Point West in Sacramento to enable me to work closer to my own community where I live. My professional mission statement is to do all I can to help my patients keep their eyes healthy and to optimize their vision throughout their lifetime.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Michigan School of Medicine, Ann Arbor, MI
Internship Louis A Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL
Residency Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, TX
Board certification Ophthalmology, American Board of Ophthalmology

My Practice

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist I see patients of any age with a wide variety of problems. My tools of the trade include modern medicines, lasers, and surgery.

Why I Enjoy Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because of the excellent team we have assembled here in the eye services department of the North Valley (Sacramento regional area). We have top-notch medical assistants and technicians who have special training in eyes. Our Eye Surgery Center handles only eye cases and is truly a center of excellence. I also enjoy terrific colleagues who provide a ready-made “think tank” if I want input on a difficult or challenging case.

My Personal History

My wife and I love living in Sacramento. We are outdoors people and enjoy an active lifestyle that includes biking, tennis, kayaking, and golf. We also enjoy traveling to the nearby ocean or into the mountains for vacations.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
