My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an anesthesiologist in the Kaiser system. I have a special training and passion to take care of infants and children. I decided long ago to make this my career after facing a mix of our happiest and most difficult time raising our children

My Practice Philosophy

I strongly believe in the 3 aspects of anesthesiology. Science and technology on one side, medical judgment and skill on the second side, last is the humanitarian side which is most important for me.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since April 2007. I take care of a large number of young families with children that belong to the Kaiser system. We have integrated care where all the specialties work together to provide a superior health care system. Kaiser Permanente is also committed to use the top technology and information system to make our life as physicians and our caring for our members easier and better.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I am a member in the American Society of Anesthesiology and the California Society of Anesthesiology.

On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Egypt I came to this country in 1980. I lived in different states, did different residencies and fellowships that involve building skills and knowledge to take care of children. My wife and I were blessed with 5 wonderful children 4 of which are alive and well. We enjoy traveling together and as far as sports I stopped playing soccer but I still play volleyball every week.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
