About Me

I am originally from Michigan's upper peninsula, which makes me a "yooper" (from the "U.P."). I came to California to follow my husband's career in biotechnology and had a private practice on "Pill Hill" for 10 years before joining TPMG. I came to TPMG in 2002 to escape increasing difficulties with administrative and financial burdens of private practice.

My goal is to provide quality, personal, socially responsible medicine to people who desire the same. I have been very pleased with my experience at Kaiser and its integrative system of healthcare delivery and have enjoyed the supportive relationship with my colleagues. I am in my primary care internal medicine office 3-and-a-half days per week. I also work half days in the gastroenterology department doing screening sigmoidoscopies, and recently have joined the staff in the chronic pain clinic.

I have special interests in women's medicine, and by my own family circumstances, people with autism and disabilities. Through working with my teenage son with autism, I know a little American Sign language/fingerspelling. In my limited spare time, I study middle eastern dance, and I like to do faux finishes and interior decorating.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Michigan School of Medicine, Ann Arbor, MI
Residency University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
