My Specialty and Why I Chose It
I am a pediatric endocrinologist and provide care to those children with diabetes and endocrine related problems. I enjoy this area of specialty because I get to work with children of all different ages! Also I enjoy providing education and a medical plan for the parents and children with more long term medical care.
My Practice Philosophy
I have a philosophy of providing the most current evidence based medical practice for my patients. I believe in providing families with knowledge of their health condition such that the family is an active partner in medical decisions affecting there life.
My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente
I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2005. Since joining Kaiser Permanente I have seen both the endocrine and diabetes practice grow and have enjoyed providing care to patients in the Central Valley of California.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente because of the many colleagues I can interact with and the feeling of a large medical community. I feel fortunate to be apart of an organization which provides both optimal general medical care as well as the most up to date specialty care.
Professional Interests & Affiliations
I have an interest in the psychosocial components of diabetes and how this labor intensive disease affects families and possible ways to improve glucose control over the teenage years. I also have an interest in the steroidogenesis and the defects involved in steroid hormone production.

Thank you for your interest in learning more about our Department of Endocrine and Diabetes Care. In order to provide you with the best possible care I encourage patients to also maintain a regular pediatric provider such that communication and coordination of care can continue during those times when I may not be available, as well as, if hospitalization is necessary the child has both the specialists and general providers coordinated care.
Be sure to visit the Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.
