My Specialty and Why I Chose It

As an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, I provide health care for women of all ages and stages in their lives. I care for women during their pregnancies, perform deliveries, and manage postpartum problems. Outside of pregnancy, I provide preventative health care as well as help women with gynecologic problems through medical or surgical means. I chose to become an OB/GYN because I enjoy being able to help women through good times and bad.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe that health care should be a partnership between the patient and her physician. Each woman is unique with her own set of needs and values. As your physician, it is my job to provide you with the knowledge and support to determine the best treatment option for you.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA
Residency Magee Womens Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA
Board certification Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente in Northern California since August 2006. Prior to my move here, I was in practice with Kaiser Permanente in Northern Virginia for 2 years, and I also served as a civilian provider for the Army/Air Force in San Antonio, Texas.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

As a physician with Kaiser Permanente, I am able to provide the care I feel is necessary for my patients without having to worry about insurance approval. In addition, I have the help of an excellent group of colleagues and support staff. I feel very strongly that education and preventative care are vital parts of health care, and Kaiser is second to none on these services.

On a Personal Note…

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
