Biography

I was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, but only spent a short time there. At age four my family moved out to California to take care of my grandmother in Hemet. I initially began my college career at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, Ca. I decided early after attending college that I wanted to pursue a career in physical therapy, so I transferred to California State University, Fresno to finish my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (the study of human movement) in 1999. I continued into the master's program in physical therapy, and completed my graduate degree in 2002.

During the master's program at CSU, Fresno, I enjoyed teaching swimming lessons in the bay area in Redwood City. I enjoyed the bay area so much, I did my internship in the area at Stanford Hospital. I pursued a job in orthopedics soon after my internship at Mountain View physical therapy. In August of 2004, I joined the Kaiser physical therapy team. I enjoy working both in the hospital and in the outpatient settings.

I developed my skills in manual therapy by taking a yearlong course in Australian Maitland techniques in 2003-4 and continued to be the teacher’s aide the following year in 2004-5. I also have had specialized training in vestibular rehabilitation (balance disorders), back and neck disorders and postural dysfunctions.

When I am not working, I spend my time weight training at Gold's Gym, and training for triathlons. I also enjoy the outdoors hiking and hitting the ski slopes on my snowboard.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
