Thank you for visiting my web page. I hope this page will be helpful in learning about me and answer some of your questions.
My Specialty and Why I Chose It
I am a fellowship trained vitreo-retinal specialist. I diagnose and treat diseases of the retina, vitreous and choroid. The retina is a very complex layer inside the eye that is vital for vision and is irreplaceable. This specialty is very challenging and satisfying to me.
My Practice Philosophy
My philosophy of care is to treat you with compassion, the way I would like to be treated. I will listen and educate you about your condition so that you can make an appropriate choice of care. I will promptly inform the referring ophthalmologist and your internist of your situation.
My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente
I joined Kaiser Permanente in July 2007. I am privileged to practice medicine at Kaiser Permanente that has a 60-year history of providing high quality evidence-based medical care. One of the greatest benefits of practicing at Kaiser Permanente is that I can focus on patient care. With over 6,000 physicians working together in an integrated health care system, I can call on the expertise and experience of my colleagues at anytime.
My Professional Interests and Affiliations
I have a special interest in the management of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. I am a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and I am board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
On a Personal Note. . .
My wife is a rheumatologist and we have two lovely boys. Out of work we spend most of our time with them. We like traveling, especially driving. We recently drove from the east coast to Sacramento. We visited several places on the way that gave us a better perspective of this great country. I like skiing and was a soccer coach briefly. I help our kids with their scouting activities. We have won 6 pinewood derby races to date. Currently we are working on our kid’s “Spelling Bee” contest.
