About Me

I selected Pathology as a specialty because I felt it would allow me to be involved in the most interesting and challenging cases that present to the hospital. Virtually all diagnostic dilemmas involve the areas of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in some way. Pathologists provide important diagnostic and prognostic information which allows our clinical colleagues to provide optimal treatment for our patients.

I am proud to have been practicing Pathology at the Kaiser Oakland Medical Center since 1988. I firmly believe that our integrated health care system facilitates communication amongst physicians of diverse specialities and helps to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible. I feel fortunate to work with the talented, dedicated physicians of The Permanente Medical Group in all fields of practice.

While I am interested in all aspects of Pathology, areas of special interest to me are gastrointestinal, gynecological, and breast pathology. I am a Past President and currently Continuing Medical Education Coordinator of the South Bay Pathology Society.

My outside interests include travel, cooking, fitness, scuba diving, and helping to coach my two daughters in Track and Cross Country.
