I am a native Californian, born in San Jose. I grew up in Gilroy, the Garlic Capital of the World. I grew up on a farm, feeding pigs and cows and chasing the chickens. I became interested in physical therapy while attending high school after becoming involved with cross-country, track and wrestling.

I graduated from San Jose State University in 2000, with honors, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. I earned a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from University of the Pacific (UOP) in Stockton in 2002. I returned to UOP to receive a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2004.

I joined the Kaiser physical therapy team in 2002 and enjoy belonging to such a knowledgeable and supportive group of therapists. In addition to treating patients individually I also enjoy teaching a number of classes. I am constantly seeking opportunities to enhance my professional education through continuing education classes. I am also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Outside of physical therapy, my family keeps me pretty busy. I enjoy photography and reading as well as watching and playing various sports. I am currently trying to compile a family photo album and trace my genealogy.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
