My Specialty

I am a board certified nurse midwife working as a nurse practitioner in Women’s Health. I am currently the nurse practitioner for the Teen Clinic here as well as working with prenatal diabetes. I enjoy the continuity of clinic work, getting to know my patients well.

I believe that the people I care for are entitled to my time, understanding, and compassion as well as the benefit of any knowledge I might bring. I recognize that I learn from my patients every day.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

With the exception of a two-year involvement with a free-standing Birth Center, I have been employed as a labor nurse or nurse practitioner for Kaiser Permanente since 1975.

Why I Like Practicing at Kaiser Permanente

My special love is the Teen Clinic. It provides multidisciplinary care for teens in a relaxed setting where they see the same providers each visit. Education is most important in this clinic and is provided with teen interests in mind: breast-feeding, baby care, child safety, parenting, contraception. I especially appreciate my teen clients.

On a Personal Note. . .

As an “army brat” I have traveled all over the world and enjoy learning about other cultures. I appreciate diversity.

As a "child of the sixties", I have been dragged kicking and screaming into the computer age. I am slowly learning to appreciate it but my patients have usually had much more experience than I have.
