About Me

I was born in Lodi, Ohio and moved to Orange County, California where I lived until 2004. I attended Cal State University Long Beach with my BA in Social Welfare, graduating in 1967. I went to UCLA for my Masters in Social Work graduating in 1974.

My career covers 23 years with Orange County Social Services and Mental Health and various nonprofits setting up counseling departments. For over 9 years I was in private practice working with mood disorders, and relationships problems. While at USC school of Social Work I did field education, and have supervised MSW and LCSW candidates for the last 15 years. I am a Master Trainer and have taught at several colleges. I am trained in Existential Metapsychiatry, in “Imago” Relationship Therapy, and in Cognitive Therapy with David Burns, MD.

Currently I am in the Depression Pathway in Folsom helping in the Medication Groups and doing the Depression Grad Group on CBT. Depression pathway is a coordinated, multi-disciplinary depression treatment program emphasizing group therapy that is based primarily on the cognitive behavioral therapy model. The program includes group therapy, medication management, brief individual therapy and education for the early identification and treatment of unipolar depression.

A workshop on Suicide Prevention is being developed as part of the Depression Re-entry Program to provide more support to new patients.

I moved here 3 years ago, after working 7 years at Kaiser psychiatry in Anaheim, I enjoy fly fishing, yoga, dance, art, my cats , new friends, guest, my family and my spiritual journey.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
