About Me
I finished my Interventional Radiology Fellowship at UCSF in 1994. After a year as Director of Interventional Radiology at Alaska Regional Hospital I went to work for the University of Maryland in Baltimore. In 2000 I returned to UCSF where I worked until I came to Kaiser Oakland in July 2006.
I came to Kaiser Permanente because of the fantastic Radiology group I work with, the truly collaborative interactions with other medical and surgical services, the excellent mix of cases, and the quality of patient care. My clinical practice has flourished here and I have been satisfied on all counts.
I enjoy the full range of interventions I perform, but am particularly interested in angioplasty for limb salvage, endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, stroke prevention, local and regional treatment of cancer, TIPS, treatment of varicose veins, and spinal interventions such as vertebroplasty.
I live in San Francisco with my wife and two children. My outside interests include endurance bicycling, climbing, and music. I also speak Spanish.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
