My Qualifications

I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2000. I am board certified by the American Board of Pathology in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

My Healthcare Practice

As a surgical pathologist my primary role is to assist your clinicians in classifying and evaluating the extent of disease. As a result, I interact with your clinician and I try to provide them with the information they need to treat your condition.

Many of the diseases I diagnose involve cancer, therefore I've included links to the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in an effort to give you additional resources to aid in the understanding of your condition.

I've also included the following links from the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute regarding sun safety, lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer to help motivate all of us to thrive for prevention as well as treatment:

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
